Matching Design With Process

Larger Inside Corner Radius

Inside Radius example

Larger Corner Radius

Radius small and costly

Smaller Corner Radius

Inside corner radius size determines the cutting tool diameter, and smaller tools take much longer to remove material.  This can also affect surface finish, as larger cutters are much more ridged and less prone to chatter and cutting with a taper. The added time and dificulty to control surface finish directly impacts cost.
